The famed Sawtooth Ale, in all its balanced taste and spectacular complexity, gets a further boost with cask conditioning and Columbus dry hops in what's both a subtle and traditional face lift.
Its relaxed hazy hues tether through a dense honey-amber glow. As a dainty creme of froth builds upon, those British aromas begin to mount. Rich caramel and toffee swirl to collect fruit marmalade and mild tobacco ques to the nose and early palate, before the hops set in.
Perfumy with citrus, grapefruit and orange peel jump right out before the middle palate introduces and earthy sweetness to accompany its bready-sweet taste and cake-like density. With low lying carbonation to which contend, the sweet jammy taste and herbal tobacco notes seep into the soft tissues of the mouth with utter ease.
Closing with intensifying bitterness, the hops outlast the malt with its resinous bitterness that hints toward spruce stem, leaf and fresh-cut grass. Light woodsy taste emits as the cask flavors make a light and drying impact on the finish.
