Loose Lips Sink Ships — Keep Your Balls at the Ready!™
In 1766, Catherine the Great — Empress of Russia — agreed to a commercial treaty between the Empires of Russia and Great Britain. One result of the treaty was Catherine’s development of a personal affinity for London Stout, which Henry Thrale brewed in his Anchor Brewery in Southwark for export to the Russian Imperial Court. English and Irish breweries produce several Stout styles such as Oatmeal, Sweet, Dry, Foreign, and Imperial, but the United States is now the largest producer of Imperial Stout. That should come as no surprise for a malted beverage that exudes bold and complex flavors, creamy richness, and an attitude suggestive of perfection in every way. The Brew Crew at Bull Creek knows flavor lovers will enjoy our rendition of the Imperial beverage that has delighted millions for three centuries. Our Iron Balls® Imperial Stout is an exciting combination of roasted malts meant to release the adventurous side of discerning palates. Expect strong hints of chocolate, coffee, vanilla, dark fruit, and caramel. So tasty and substantial you may want to drink it for dinner– maybe even breakfast!

Considering a fairly new brewery, the flavor of this beer is fab, the carbonation is over the top, it's just not there yet. Feel pretty awesome: guys (girls?) work on the look & get it a bit more heavy and you got a winner in my humble opinion... :-)

I loved the name and label artwork, but this beer has far too much carbonation for an imperial stout. Mouthfeel is thin and fizzy; more like a black lager than a stout. The head formed quickly and dissipated rapidly with no lacing. I didn't bother finishing this one; it's just not worthy of the style.
If you're going to have a name like "iron balls," your better have the brew to back it up.

Commercial description give a good overall flavor profile. I bought this one at the Specs in Temple, Tx. The beer guy said they started to carry it a week ago, so it's probably a very fresh beer. Overall, it's a pretty solid stout, and represents the style well. No strange off flavors or smells and a "just thick enough" texture. There doesn't seem to be an abv listed, but i would say, with a seat of my pants buzz level, it's about a 6-7%.
