STRONG ALE SMASH (palates)! Made of the grain bill that was meant for Wet Powder - a beer that was delayed due to weather conditions diverting an overnight drop of freshly harvested Citra hops - the wort that was to be a Wet-Hopped Double IPA was diverted into a warming, malty Strong Ale. Best intentions, opposite result, strong ale.
Grain Bill: 2-Row, Wheat, and Flaked Oats. Hops: Columbus.

On-tap at The Virginia Beer Company, Williamsburg, VA
A: The beer is crystal clear dark red in color. It poured with an off white collar around the edge of the glass and lacing running down the sides.
S: Light aromas of dark malts are present in the nose.
T: The taste is malty and lava flavors of dark malts with hints of raisins.
M: It feels medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This old ale doesn't blow you away but is solid and relatively easy to drink compared to other beers in the style.
