I am Hardywood Park Craft Brewery.
I am The Virginia Beer Company.
Together, we are: WYLD STALLYNS.

As part of a 3-year anniversary kick-off the opposite of bogus, the Virginia Beer Co. has teamed with the righteous dudes & dudettes from Hardywood to collaborate on “Michael & Jason’s Excellent Adventure” - a nuanced Double IPA inspired by two of our favorite 757 & 804 sales dudes and designed after a traditional Gin & Tonic cocktail.

Brewed with Juniper Berries, Coriander, and Lemon Peel, this recipe also features a healthy dose of Huell Melon, Mandarina Bavaria, and Citra hops for a layered beer drinking experience.

Draft. Cans. Food. Friendship. Be excellent to each other. Brew excellent things together. Share excellence with everyone.

We must be from the future…because your Spring RULES.

Not sure I knew what to expect when it came to a Gin & Tonic DIPA, but it was fun to find out. A lot of zest from the citrus and a big bite on the backend definitely had me thinking G&T. Had kind of a West Coast IPA feel to it, which added to the bite. But it was a different drinking experience and I appreciated the effort!

From the lip on the bottom of the can: "CANNED 0N 03/12/19"

Appearance: The body is cloudy and has a medium-gold color. The head is off-white, short, and fades away quickly. Not much head retention or lacing.

Aroma: There is a scent of alcohol that comes through first, then a hint of what smells like mint leaves.

Taste: The beer has a fairly strong juniper flavor up front along with an alcohol flavor. There is a bit of a mint character to the beer. It is a bit twiggy towards the end and bitter with a strong alcohol finish.

Mouthfeel: Low carbonation, medium-high bitterness, slightly textured, with a wet finish.

Overall: The can says that this is "GIN & TONIC-INSPIRED" with "JUNIPER BERRIES, CORIANDER, & LEMON PEEL." It really does taste a lot like a gin and tonic so that is impressive. Even though this is a Double IPA, this beer is more for those looking for a novelty. It's worth picking up if you like gin or even if you are curious what the beer tastes like. It's worth drinking once but I wouldn't buy it again.
