2019 Vintage.
High Heat Summer IPA is our take on an India Pale Ale brewed to help you hopheads take on the dog days of summer. A DOUBLE dry-hop of Citra + Lemondrop hops combines with locally sourced Copper Fox High Heat Malt -- which is kilned at a higher temperature to produce a soft, malty sweetness. The result is a juicy, citrusy, smooth, and refreshing summertime sipper.
Grain Bill: Copper Fox High Heat Malt, 2-Row, and Flaked Oats. Hops: Citra and Lemondrop.

Canned on 6/13/2019. Poured into a Spiegelau IPA glass. It pours a hazy honey-orange color with a finger of fluffy, bright white head and lots of soapy lacing. Its nose is fruity with notes of lemongrass, tangerine, honeydew melon, oats, and subtle floral hops. The taste is tart and somewhat sour. There is lots of almost bitter lemon balanced against sweeter tropical notes, and oats. It's lite and crisp with pleasant carbonation, and it's an easy drinker at 5.5% ABV. Overall, this is a refreshing summertime cooler.

A slightly new take on a recipe I've enjoyed at VBC many times. This year swapped out Galaxy for Citra in the DDH, with Lemondrop remaining constant. Basically a modern "Session IPA" at 5.5% ABV but still full-bodied and packs a ton of citrusy, bright flavor.
