As far as I know from studying Sonoma County's brewers for a month, it has no lager specialist. Now it appears to have one with Iron Ox. Plow Pils is close to spot-on for the German pils.
While Plow Pils Looks only slightly above average (I'd like the foam to last longer), Smells are very much to style (with sweet malt and baked biscuit getting grassy hops in the back of my nose.) Tastes are balanced and the hops equal the malt at the finish line. Medium-mouthed.
As for my generous Overall Hugs for a young brewer, that is for the lager speciality (albeit they also produce IPA for market demand.) More micros need to step it up for the lager and bring moderation back to brewing. I also give good Hugs for Iron Ox telling both sides of brewing. There are struggles in the journey. Cheers !
