5 out of 5 does not do the aroma justice. This is a truly distinctive and delicious beer. Maybe you've had coffee stout before but not like this.

On-tap 11/26/2016 at the brewery in Providence, RI, served in a tulip glass.
A: The beer is a deep dark brown color, with a short beige head that fades slowly and leaves a thick lace on the glass.
S: The aroma contains strong coffee, roasted malts, chocolate and a faint touch of hops.
T: The taste starts out sweet with flavors of coffee, molasses and chocolate. Then a hearty roasted malt character comes in. The hops presence is mild as it should be and brings a very good balance. The after-taste is sweet.
M: Crisp and smooth, medium-to-heavy body, medium carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.
O: Very tasty, goes down easily, slightly filling, mild kick, good representation of style, this is a very solid beer to drink for a long time.
