On-cask 5/5/2017 at the brewery in Providence, RI, served in a tulip glass.
A: The beer is a dark gold color, with a large off-white head that fades quickly and leaves a thick but spotty lace on the glass.
S: The aroma contains toasted corn, caramelized malts, some hops and some citrus.
T: The taste starts out with a strong toasted corn tortilla flavor that dominates. There is a mild caramel and citrus sweetness that follows. The hops presence is mild for the style but brings some balance. The after-taste is slightly bready and slightly sweet.
M: Crisp and a little smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is clean.
O: A little tasty, goes down ok, not too filling, mild kick, odd variation of style, it’s a solid beer to drink for a while if you’re looking for something different.
