Served in a tulip. Pours two shades shy of black with a tight band around the shoulders. Nose is amazing, but hard to place - sugary sweet and light caramel, as well as some light fruity esters. Taste follows nose - delicious and sugary, with the addition of vanilla wafers. Mouthfeel is light-medium in body with a mild, almost still carbonation. Not an American Barleywine, whatsoever - no hops at all, which is fine with me; however, I feel like it needs to be said. That said, delicious (and bordering sickeningly sweet). A little quaff will do you.

On-tap 1/8/2022 at the brewery in Providence, RI, served in snifter glass.
A: The beer is a deep dark brown color, with a thin off-white head that fades quickly and leaves a decent lace on the glass.
S: The aroma contains strong marshmallows, roasted malts, some bourbon, coffee and chocolate.
T: The taste likewise starts out with a huge sweet marshmallow flavor as well as bourbon. Then some flavors of chocolate, coffee and dark fruit follow. There’s a hearty roasted malt character and a touch of hops creating a very good balance. The after-taste is very sweet.
M: Crisp and very smooth, medium-to-heavy body, medium carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.
O: Very tasty, goes down dangerously easy, slightly filling, well-hidden very strong kick, very good hybrid of styles as this one walks the line between Barleywine & Imperial Stout. This is a very good big beer to sip on for a while.
