500ml bottle served in a tulip. Pours one shade shy of black with a think, mocha-colored, fizzy head that immediately dissipates in the glass. Nose reveals cocoa, caramel and lactose. Taste follows nose with the additional of vanilla beans and ethanol. Not much of the barrel, but spirits are present. Mouthfeel is medium in body with a creamy, slightly oily texture and an almost still carbonation. Overall, a delicious pastry stout. Unfortunately, I don’t get the apple brandy; however, it is still quite tasty and decadent. I wouldn’t recommend extended cellaring on this one.
