500ml bottle served in a Spiegelau tulip. Pours one shade shy of black with no head and an opaque clarity. Nose reveals chocolate, butterscotch, a trace of coconut and a hit of ethanol. Taste is quite lovely - sweet and decadent. Flavor profile is consistent with nose; however, amplified with the addition of notes of vanilla. I don’t really got much of the barrel other than a hit of ethanol that peaks out at the finish. Mouthfeel is medium in body with a still carbonation. Overall, a very nice BA stout. I wish there was a little more barrel nuance to this, but it’s quite tasty. I wouldn’t recommend extended cellaring for this beer (e.g., no more than 6 moths or a year) as I think the qualities that stand out now will drop off and become muddled.
