The Wine Haus series has been an odd one for me. The OG still stands as their best beer for me even 4 years later, but the bourbon barrel aged variant from 2021 was pretty bad. I have a little more faith that this one will be good because how can you go wrong with a pear brandy barrel? Let’s pop it open and see what it’s all about
Pours a lightly cloudy medium brown with a finger of soapy light beige head that quickly fades to a thin ring and leaves minimal lacing
The nose is quite sweet but still promising. I’m picking up on aromas of brown sugar, candied pecan, poached pear, cherry pit, molasses, sweet vanilla, burnt caramel, milk chocolate, and golden raisin
There’s even more punxh to it in taste, sweet but very complex. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting sweet caramel, vanilla bean, pear brandy, buttery oak, toffee, molasses, brown bread, old leather, apple skin, and light tobacco. The swallow brings notes of poached pear, creme brûlée, molasses, vanilla bean, golden raisin, cherry pit, brown sugar, candied pecan, smooth oak, and tobacco
A medium full body pairs with gentle tingling carbonation, resulting in a slick beer. Finishes a tad sticky with some heat
While this isn’t quite at the level of the base beer, it’s miles better than the bourbon variant

Sweet caramel and candied brown sugar, golden raisins, pralines, and a sweet brandy barrel boozy nose on this one! Taste follows with a slightly thin, caramel malty, floral vanilla, and a brown liquor boozy finish. This one is definitely more enjoyable the warmer it gets...a little more nuance and a little more heat from the pear brandy barrels starts to assert itself. Tasty!
