Gift from a relative from NH. Pours a clear dark gold with small but persistent head. Smell is spicy yeast- the true to style bananas and cloves, maybe a touch of booze. The can claims it's well rounded and I have to agree. This is extremely well balanced. Nice malt flavor. Not too sweet, a little toasty. Just a touch of bitterness and those great belgian style yeast notes are present but not overwhelming. Smooth, which not always a descriptor for a 9.7% beer. Although as I drink it it's starting to hit me a little more. Nice full bodied mouthfeel with substantial carbonation. This is near prototypical and one of the better american belgians I've had.

From a 16 oz. can dated 06/11/21. Sampled July 10, 2021.

Attractive golden-amber pour underneath an off-white head that slowly fades to a ring. Good clarity.

Lovely array of Belgian type aromas such as clove, coriander, apple, apricot, and pear.

The body is soft, medium or better.

The taste starts out sweet with caramel malts but then those spicy notes start moving in to give this beer a little oomph and some character. Mildly dry. True to the style.

Can from the Packie
Deep gold in color with a huge rocky white head that persists. Sweet honey maltiness with just a touch of floral hops and some peppery spicy phenol's. Clean and well made beer.

Made a spontaneous stop into this little micro brewery while I was on my way to . Enjoyed a quick flight and had fun talking with the pourer and one other patron that was in there. Friendly place. Of the flight I tried this was the beer that stood out to me. I thought it nailed the style. I bought a few bombers to take home.

I am writing this review in part to give a warning. A year later I finished my last bottle of Face Plant today. It is now getting a little cider-vinegary. Not a know on the beer, it just does not age well. Enjoy this one while it is fresh. My posted rating is based on my recollection of this beer fresh, not on the aged version.

I do not know when I will ever be in Troy, NH again, but if I am I will definitely stop in and see what else they have on tap.
