While UnTappd styled this as a New Zealand Pilsner, its low hops caused me to style it as a German Pils... but it easily could be an American Pils. Whatever. This is my second pils from Cooperage and I wish it could say that they were a master pils brewer.
P.K.E. Looks sickly, almost no foam and no post-pour activity. I regret giving the same below average rating for Smells, mostly malt but not much of much. Tastes improve as it is balanced and does finish dry, due to skilled blending of hops. On the light side of medium-mouthed. Suitable probably for lunch.
I give good Overall Hugs to Cooperage because it is their 10th Anniversary and that is an achievement since more micros died last year than were born. And P.K.E. is a good effort to collaborate with a brewpub and bring them along. But the fact of the matter is that P.K.E. needs a better yeast.
