On-tap @ Czig Meister Brewing Co. in Hackettstown, NJ.
Deep gold in color and hazy with a small white head. Lemon rind and spice in the aroma. A little bit of funk as well. More fruit and spice in the flavor, the latter coming from the use of peppercorns. Dry finish. It has a big, medium-fill body feel to it for a saison, yet remains bright, refreshing, and easy to drink.
Billed as an "imperial saison," the bartender told me this was her favorite beer on-tap at the moment. It's a nice version of the style. Worthy of a try for sure.
