Poured from pint bottle into Czig Meister pint glass. It pours a hazy ruby color with orange hues, and a thin, khaki-colored head that dissipated quickly leaving a thin sheen of of like colored lacing. The nose features roasted malt, caramel, and earthy peat. It opens with the expected sweet caramel and dark fruit but quickly becomes smoky and bitter with notes of peat and tobacco smoke. It has all the classic elements of a Wee Heavy. It finishes with more bitterness than I expected, which is a positive. The mouth feel is a little thin; I wish it were more creamy and viscous. The carbonation is mild and the 9.9% ABV is barely noticeable. Overall, it's tasty but the flavors and feel are not at the level of Dirty Bastard, Scotty Karate, Claymore or Traquair.
