Country beer racked upon local black currants, rich with dark, brooding fruit character. Notes of Loire Cabernet Franc, brambleberry, blackberry, black raspberry, and unsulphered dried figs.

Nice tart beer, dark and dark fruit aroma. A good sipper with a serious meal. Decent mouthfeel, notes are mild dark wine with a hint of raisin, went nicely with salmon.

500 mL bottle. Bright red. Smells of earthy berries and a deep berry acidity. Tastes of bright berries, then deep earthy currants, finishes with a little cranberry and oak. Lightly tart. Well carbonated. As always, simple and pleasant.

Pours a dark, almost yogurty-looking cranberry color with two fingers of raspberry-tinted head that last a good long while. Some modest lacing as well.
Big, juicy currant in the nose with a little lemon, a little wood and a hint of formaldehyde far behind.
Very tangy and tart tasting. Like the appearance, it’s almost yogurty at times. Not as clearly fruity as the nose. Plenty of wood, moderate acidity, and a little more of that formaldehyde impression lingering in the aftertaste.
Thick bodied for the style with fine, tight carbonation fizz.
Some nice currant juiciness and a little read wine does sort of build in the back of the mouth near the molars as you drink through a glass. I really like how the tartness and tanginess play off one another. The “formaldehyde” (which may just be the interplay of some slight funk and the fruit) prevents it from being next level, IMO.

This one pours a dark reddish/purplish color, with a small head, and a bit of lacing.
This smells like fairly sour black currant, berry, lemon, and a bit of an astringent funk character on the back end.
This isn't my favorite fruited beer from Suarez too far - that could possibly be because I don't really like black currant all that much. Trying to be fair and unbiased here, there does seem to be an acidic and astringent finish here. The currants kind of bury what would be nice and pleasant about the base beer.
This is light bodied, clean up front, but astringent on the back end.
This unfortunately didn't really do it for me. Stuff like Summer Whoa and Windfall are better for their fruited country beers.
