On tap at The Tap and Mallet in Rochester, NY.
This one pours a nice slightly hazy straw yellow, with a small head, and a bit of lacing.
Smells awesome- you still get the delicate yeasty, peppery, and clovey Hennepin base, but now a big dosing of lime, grapefruit, and mango is on top. Delicious aroma.
The taste follows delicious suit. Motueka is a pretty killer hop, and this is a great showcase of it. I get lime, grapefruit, and mango out of this, with some grassiness, white pepper, fruit pits/rinds, and some pine. I could drink this all day.
This is lighter bodied, with a crisp, tasty mouthfeel, and a good level of carbonation.
Possibly/probably the best beer I've had from Ommegang. They took a classic base beer and really amplified it for me.

an awesome beer, but so is the base beer, and like some of the other hopped up editions before this one, its delicious, but i am not sure it improves upon the already outstanding base beer too much. these hops are super juicy, very classically southern hemisphere, passion fruit tang and citrus. the saison yeast strain, which i have always loved in this beer, loves these hops too, with its white pepper notes and green apple fruitiness. this is so crisp and dry in its base form, and these hops seem to soften that up a little bit, more tropical and mouthwatering, but i do like the bone dry nature of it as well. its interesting to me that the dose of hops seems to be quite delicate. they arent trying to turn this into a hop driven beer, merely accentuate some aspects of it, so the hops are subtle compared to what they are capable of doing in a dry hop. i like that scaled back and restrained nature. the beer overall is super drinkable and refreshing, well carbonated and you forget its pushing 8% abv. ommegang has long been one of the best at these kinds of beers, and this is another great one. i hope they keep the series going, although for my money i still prefer the original...
