This delectable Saison is brewed especially for the 2012 Glimmerglass Festival. It opens dramatically with full champagne carbonation, followed by rich malt, spice, and fruit aromas and flavors. It then swells to a crescendo of complex tastes and aromas. The finish closes gently with a touch of sweetness and a lingering hint of spice.

Picked this one up at the brewery a couple months back
Poured from a corked and caged bomber into my Ommegang glass

A- pours a clear, dark golden straw color, a steady stream of bubbles rises to the surface, a large fluffy white head appears on the pour and very slowly dissipates, lots of sticky lace on the glass, very pretty

S- bready malt, a bouquet of floral notes, small amount of clove, lemon zest, slightly peppery as well, mediocre nose

T- sweet and dry, grassy floral favors with a slight hop bitterness added, small amount of spice, the bready malt noticeable in the aftertaste, a small amount of fruitiness from the Belgian yeast, once again okay taste but I've had better saisons

M- medium body, smooth and slick, decent amount of carbonation, dry finish

O- this was okay, I had high hopes for this one and it didn't really pan out, it's not offensive by any means but not one Ommegang should try brewing again

Thanks to my Sister-in-Law for grabbing me a bottle. I believe this was a brewery-only release. It was created for the 2012 Glimmerglass Festival Season, and is supposed to evoke and opera. Brewed with Grains of Paradise, Coriander, Lemon Peel, and White Pepper.

Pours a hazy gold with a creamy white head that settles to a puffy swirl. Very spice-forward, lots of white pepper and coriander accentuates the Saison yeast nicely. Touch of ripe apple and pear, with just a hint of citric orange peel. Very nice nose overall. Taste isn't quite as "peppery" as the nose suggested, but still quite lovely. Fairly typical of a Saison, with ripe fruit notes, spice, and orange peel. Nothing really new, but masterfully done. Mouthfeel is light and crisp, with a medium body, great carbonation, and an excellent dry finish. Overall a superb Saison, I'd like to see this return (and make it to regular rotation)!

Pours a hazy yellow color with a white head. In the aroma, lemon peel and pepper. In the taste, peppery, lemon citrus and a quite earthy. A spice like bite and a lighter bodied mouthfeel, with a dry peppery with a note of lemon citrus in the aftertaste. A good saison with a nice peppery bite balanced with the lemon citrus.
