750 mL crowler. Hazy orange with a big fluffy white head. Smells of melon and resiny hops in equal portions. A little sweet smelling. Tastes sweet up front of some caramel malts. Melon hops are strong and brighten the sweetness of the beer. Some resin, too, but it’s right up front. Very low bitterness, if any. Medium heavy. Kinda creamy with low carbonation. It’s tasty, but I’m looking for a little more depth of flavor from it.

750ml crowler, dated 2/24/2017. Served in a Pulpit Rock snifter 2/28/2017. Pours a darker orange body, slight copper hue, one and a half finger thick white head, good retention, lots of lacing. Smells full of grapefruit juice, citrus, plus a dank resin. Slight caramel sweetness to it. Flavour is heavy on the grapefruit juice and grapefruit peel; nice dank resin, slight orange juice, mild caramel sweetness to it. Heavy on the hops, fairly juicy. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, good carbonation, smooth and creamy. The slightly lower carbonation seems to work really well here. Overall, a very tasty IA DIPA that favours the hops over the malts in the traditional NE IPA style.

Draft pour at Pulpit Rock. Hazy opaque yellow body with small collar of bone white head. Dank, dirty and juicy hops with citrusy kick in the aroma and flavor. Minimal hop bitterness and moderate dankness. A medium bodied beer with moderate carbonation level. Super juicy mouthfeel with the dankness making a really nice contrast. Midwest beer region is making some seriously juicy hops and I think that Pulpit Rock is making better hoppy beers than TG is these days! The quality is right there with the likes of Trillium, Hill Farmstead, and Treehouse, etc. Great to have more juicy hoppy beers coming to the Midwest especially of this high caliber to boot.
