Bayside Brewing Company

 

A friend and I stopped at this lovely little brewpub, located on the southern shores of Rondeau Bay in the beach/cottage hamlet of Erieau, Ontario. Roughly 30 minutes' drive off of the 401, south of Blenheim. There is a spacious patio out back with a beautiful view of the bay. The food was delicious; the fire-stone-cooked pizza was amazing, and the soft pretzel (with honey mustard aioli and balsamic) was quite tasty, too. The beers themselves are also good, though not necessarily worth going out of your way for - the food, however, is to die for. The staff were exceedingly friendly and the place seemed to be pretty busy on a Monday afternoon. If you're planning to visit on a summer weekend, you might want to call ahead and make sure there's room.

If you're passing through Chatham-Kent in the summertime and have a few hours to spare, this is a great spot to enjoy some delicious food and beer by the lakeshore. I definitely plan to return next year.
