473 mL can from the brewery; dated Sep 29 2025 and served slightly chilled.
Pours clear and effervescent, its golden amber-hued body graced with nearly two fingers of bumpy, foamy white head that fades within five minutes, give or take. By that point, it has been whittled down to an eighth-inch cap and collar of creamy suds, with a decent swath of lace left behind, too. It smells of whole grain bread, toasted malts and biscuits, with suggestions of caramel and herbal, grassy, earthy hops.
It tastes alright - I'm getting toasted grains, bready malts, grain husks and a little bit of caramelized sweetness. Not particularly sweet for the style, but it is hoppier than average, for better or worse. Herbal, earthy hops and grassy hay round out the back end, persisting briefly into a bittersweet aftertaste of biscuits and earthiness that quickly dissipates. Light in body, with lively carbonation that adds a firm bite to this brew's smooth mouthfeel. Easy enough to swig back, but otherwise it's a pretty mundane lager.
Final Grade: 3.46, a B-. I don't have any strong feelings about London Brewing's Vienna Lager - it's not great, and I've certainly reviewed plenty of better Viennas... but at worst, it's just an inoffensive, forgettable amber lager. I will say that I'm not a big fan of the hop profile: aside from being a little too assertive for the style (at least IMO), it also has an earthy, kinda dirty vibe that I wasn't real keen on. I'll pass on this in the future, but I wouldn't discourage other BAs from giving it a try for themselves.
