473 mL can from the brewery; dated Dec 27 2023 and served slightly chilled.

Pours a foggy pale golden colour, topped with one inch of soapy, foamy white head that recedes within two or three minutes. A sticky coat of lace is left in its wake, along with a tight collar and filmy cap that last indefinitely. Interesting aroma that includes elements of citrus, berries and orchard fruits, e.g. underripe peach, red currant, raspberry & white wine, with hints of piney hops, lemon and grapefruit.

The flavour profile starts off strong, but peters out towards the end. Grainy pale malts and crackery wheat sweetness come through initially, alongside fruity notes of peach, white grape, orange zest and grapefruit pithiness. The finish adds a hint of pine and spicy, slightly grassy hop bitterness, with suggestions of citrus and vinousness dissipating into a relatively dry aftertaste. Medium in body, with moderate carbonation levels that add some spritz to this brew's smooth, fairly satisfying mouthfeel; great drinkability.

Final Grade: 3.87, a B+. I wouldn't necessarily say I was blown away by Chasing Hops & Dreams, but on the whole it was an overwhelmingly positive experience. Nelson Sauvin hops almost always make for an intriguing pale ale, while the HBC 630 hops add a uniquely sweet, fruity vibe to the experience. It's a good brew that I enjoyed and would purchase again, should it see another batch release in the future.
