East Coast Transplant is a throwback to our roots and a celebration of our migration to Colorado. We abide by the saying "I'm not a native, but I got here as fast as I could", and we bring with us some brewing culture that we are excited to share.

East Coast Transplant is styled after some of the famous DIPAs of the northeast U.S., it's absurdly hoppy, hazy as hell and incredibly smooth to drink. Complex and pungent notes of peach dominate the nose, while juicy tropical fruit, full bodied mouthfeel and subtle sweetness round out the flavor. Get it fresh and enjoy slowly.

L: Pours a hazy lemon juice yellow with a small white head and thick lacing around the glass.

S: Tangerine, mandarin and notes of lemon make up a large portion of the nose. With some kiwi and guava, nose doesn't smell too sweet.

T: Sweet and juicy fruit, quite sugary, notes of orange and lemon. As most NE IPAs this is fairly sweet.

F: Smooth creamy body

O: Very enjoyable IPA.

Tap at New Image - Wheat Ridge. Poured a clear, golden orange color with a good-sized head of khaki-foam. It left sticky rings of lace. It smelled of grapefruit, orange and caramel. Great tropical fruit taste with toasted caramel and a piney bitterness.

12 oz can from Tavour. Not much to add here as this style has become ubiquitous. Hazy pour with tropical and citrus notes. More tropical here, mango. Sweet, fruity with some tailing bitterness.

Nicely done DIPA. Nicely hoppy with undertones of citrus and tropical fruits. NIce haze with a pleasant feel. No bite or lingering aftertaste.

L- 70% opaque orange gold with nice 2F off white head and decent lace.
N-Produce Dept. yeast note.
T-Mango, apricot sweetness and light green hop bitterness
M-Smooth super fine carbonation and clean lightly slick finish
O- I like it. Less tang or orange than some, although the sweetness and a touch of butyric acid may impact it a bit. Alcohol is well hidden

I was intrigued by the name on this one as I was an East Coast Transplant for many years in the Navy. I finally returned home, following my early retirement, when I looked around and noticed that all of my closest friends were fellow east coast transplants! Clearly, I was not as happy as I had hoped while being in California. 8=( I'm still not happy, despite being back in my native PA, looking to relocate to the upper Midwest, but for now, beer & The CANQuest (tm) keep me happy.

From the CAN: "Hoppy * Hazy * Smooth"; "East Coast Transplant Vermont Style DIPA"; "East Coast Transplant is a throwback to our roots and a celebration of our migration to Colorado. We abide by the saying 'I'm not a native, but I got here as fast as I could', and we bring with us some brewing culture that we are excited to share. Having realized that any possibility of clarity was out the window, I Crack!ed open the vent & went with an immediate inverted Glug into the awaiting glass. This, in turn, resulted in the formation of two-plus fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, French Vanilla-colored head with decent retention, leaving behind some nice lacing. Color was a cloudy, turbid Golden-Amber (SRM = > 5, < 7). Nose was definitely peachy with some pineapple thrown in for good measure. Mouthfeel was medium, a little on the light side for the style. The taste was very fruity, a real tropical fruit cocktail mélange of mango, papaya, guava, passionfruit & pineapple, plus the aforementioned peach as well as some orange/ CANgerine thrown in for good measure. I was finding it a bit too sweet for its style, suggesting the need for an "IPA - Imperial New England". Finish was semi-dry, bordering on semi-sweet & I was left feeling unfulfilled. 8=( YMMV.

16 oz can

Pours slightly hazy golden, pillowy eggshell head dissipates to suds.

Aroma is of citrus, pine, and bready malts.

Flavor is of bread malts, honey, light citrus, and piney hops.

Medium body, tingly carbonation on the tongue.

Pleasant, easy drinking old school IPA. Goes down smooth and has decent balance between the malts and hops. Would drink again.
