A tasty, roasty, sweet stout. Standard dark appearance, brown fluffy head that dissipates quickly with no lacing. Sweet notes of chocolate and coconut cover a roasty dark malt base with just a hint of coffee presence. Taste is mildly sweet-coconut and chocolate make a tasty blend of flavors over the roasted malt base. Thick, big bodied, syrupy (maybe too syrupy) and boozy. I bought this because Phase Three was on the label. Glad I did. Great stout with a lot of flavor but not overpowering or obnoxious.

No canning date that I could find but purchased within the past 2 weeks

A collaboration with Chicago area's Phase Three brewing and dropped in Chicagoland with no fanfare or notice, so I was happy to come across this. It pours super thick like motor oil with very little carbonation. The head dissipates really quick. I don't get a lot on the nose which disappoints me given it's an adjust dessert stout. Tasting it though I get the coconut and chocolate and sweet dessert stout I'd expect. It's super thick feeling. It could almost top my ice cream sundae like a chocolate syrup. I taste some booze heat, but I like that part.
As with most dessert stouts, it's too much for me to have 12oz, but I love the first 6-8oz of it. I wish breweries would move to a 8-10oz can for these high abv and highly sweet offerings. Then more people could try them too. The pastry guys will love this. I like it, but I'll look to trade what I have for a Belgian gueuze or regular old barrel aged non adjust stout.
