Nicely bitter hops
Some dough
Hops are nice balance between sharp green and a bit of tang

Not sure if it is worth premium.

This was a good Pils, smooth and very crisp finish. A little pricey to some I'm sure but I definitely would rather purchase this than other cheaper options.

Poured from 16oz can into a dimpled mug. It appears to be stamped 9/6/22, so that must be a best-by date. The can says this is a dry-hopped Italian Pilsner with Huell Melon hops.

Appearance: light straw hue with a dash of haze and a thinnish but persistent half-finger of frothy ivory foam.

Smell: light malt aroma with a dash of lemony, melony, grassy hops. Not bad, but rather light.

Taste: big hop flavors; lemongrass, melon, a little earthiness. Malt flavor is pronounced and it's very lager-ey; it reminds me of the "pre-prohibition" lagers that were all the rage a few years back. Bitterness is relatively high. It's interesting, and I like it.

Mouthfeel: medium-light body with a decent carbonation and creaminess.

Overall: this is a very interesting beer, and I haven't tasted much like it in quite a while. Good stuff.

really nice beer to receive in the box from my homie, italian style pils, done with huell melon, less modern than it sounds though, more czech to me, with good bitterness through the whole thing, with crescendo to the finish, european malt super pale and crackery, and with a lager yeast that has quite a bit of flavor. its not all that juicy or anything on the hops side, despite the varietal. the first thing i notice is how well refined this is, absolutely crystal clear, majorly light, and with slow rising bubbles feeding a two inch head that rounds out a proper pils glass pretty nicely. the nose is fresh biscuit malt, high minerals, and somewhat more generic hops than expected for huell melon, i dont really get a ton of that character, more grassy and noble to me, bready lager yeast with good attention to detail in fermentation. the flavor is somewhat more hoppy throughout, but again not a great expression of this hop, more european than expected, oddly sort of muted overall despite it being fresh to me, and in the end i love the look, the texture, and the overall quality more than i necessarily love the flavor, but make no mistake, this is real well made beer, shows some serious evolution for these guys, and should hit for the lover of any type of pils. clean in the finish, good and hoppy although a little uninteresting, and quick to disappear. refreshing and good, would drink this on the regular if i could, quite classic.

edit: a little more vibrant and exciting in terms of hops on tap, a couple of years later, slight peppery noble character but also soft citrus and honeydew, a key lime thing, but still only in equal balance with the yeast and the malt. really tidy and brisk brew, very drinkable and just different enough to stand out. yum.

From Beer Drop. Canned July 26th 2021.

It pours a clear straw gold with a lively head of foam.

The smell is hoppy in a noble hops like way, bready, kind of spicy.

The taste has that noble hops like character, some bread and toasted malt, very flavourful for the lowish abv that it is.

Light bodied but doesn't get watery.

Very nice Pilsner.

Beautiful amber colored body; sparse, coarse carbonation; thin and patchy head. Very mild cereal grain malt aroma with just a touch of sweetness. Lightly toasted grain base flavor with a mild hop bitterness; a dollop of spiciness. Medium body; smooth and flat mouthfeel; gently warm.

This was a recommended pilsner from my favorite local, but I don't see much greatness in this beer. Sure, it's somewhat tasty, and certainly isn't "bad" overall, yet it falls short it looks and feel (at the least). I would like to pick up another can or two to revisit.

Poured at 61° F; dating info on the can label: 2021/05/12 CRISPY.
