Very dark, clear pour, looks black and opaque in the glass; thick, light khaki-colored head, semi-creamy; sticky fingers and webs of foam adorn the glass. Wonderful aroma of roasted grain with a slight char accent; subtle baker's chocolate scent. The taste follows along the lines of the smell; bitter, dark grain notes; bitter chocolate. Medium-light body; light silkiness; semi-sweet with a bold and bitter dryness.
Generally a nice dark lager. It lacks some overall sense of depth and complexity yet hits the general style parameters.
Pouring temperature: 45°F; canning info: n/a

Audibly fizzy fingers worth of dark khaki colored froth... Solid retention... Color is a flat only black that lets just the slightest bit of light leak in around the edges... Nose of roasted malt and dark breads with just a faint hit of chocolate... The palate was s mostly roasted malts and little else... Medium bodied and sturdy with loads of prickly carbonation... Solid and decent but rather unremarkable... Overall a bit less then the sum of its parts...

L: Pours a dark brown with a very small white head and no lacing on the glass.
S: Roasted malt, toasted bread, a Milky chocolate, a touch of smoke and ash.
T: Roasted malt, sweet Milky chocolate, w I th a touch of smoke and ash.
F: Carb seems a touch low, slick soda like mouthfeel.
O: Mouthfeel seems a touch off but overall very nice dark lager.

L - Dark brown, not opaque, holds its Dark Czech Lager foam for a bit, leaves sparse foam rings around the glass.
S - Toasted dark brown breads, malts, and a hint of coffee on the nose (no coffee, no worries) - great balance, yeasty bread crackers. Nice.
T - Tastes far more interesting than its low 4.3% abv would suggest - like drinking pumpernickel and rye bread, good balance of acidity and malt, lovely.
F - Good carbonation, not overly so, not fizzy, not overly complex, a little watery on the palate at first, less so as it warmed. Good.
O - a great little collaboration between New Image and Cohesion Brewing (new), teaming up to make another very welcome dark lager, and this just works.
