Pours a rich black with a short-lived , creamy head three fingers high. Aroma is chocolate and hazelnut. Taste is rich, sweet, chocolate and only a hint of hazelnut. Coffee, if present, is largely missing from the profile. This is very enjoyable and a nice brew.

Excellent solid black appearance topped with a dense, creamy, khaki colored head; nice sheets and rings of foam inside the glass. Okay aroma; a bit subdued yet touches of vanilla, cocoa, and a trace amount of coffee. Rich, sweet flavors; milk chocolate with a bit of espresso; light coffee bitterness and light touch of alcohol offsets the sweetness near the finish. Heavy body; dense and velvety; sticky residual sugars.
I like the balance and complexity of this beer. Other than a rather weak aroma, everything from the appearance, taste and, especially, the mouthfeel are wonderful to experience.
