Collaboration with Phase Three Brewing
Stout Wine
Rather than simply blending a Stout and Barleywine, the duo crafted a hybrid of the styles using key ingredients of both. They started with a custom blended malt bill –– crystal munich, crystal wheat, and a blend of crystal and chocolate malt they’ve affectionately named “crystal 300.” Then they rested the brew on sugar maple wood, deepening its brown sugar and cocoa notes.

Medium black opaque body with a tan cap with little retention. Aromas of brown sugar, date, toffee, barley, and bakers chocolate, Taste is much boozier, has a licorice and leather note added, brown sugar and dark fruit large, everything else a little faded into the background. Good but sweeter stoutwine, this is reflected in the feel with not syrupy but close texture, very warm.
