A blend of barrel aged stouts aged 24 months in bourbon barrels, infused with Pineapple Express and Blackberry Kush terpenes. Brewed in collaboration with our friends and Bottle Logic Brewery. Don't freak out, these are not hash brownies.

Motor oil viscosity on the pour, without hardly any lingering head buildup. A thin ring of tan foam settles around the liquid after a few moments in the glass.

Getting a touch of terpenes on the nose; not as much when poured into the glencairn at first, but definitely noticeable when smelling straight from the bottle. In the glass, getting a lot more fudgy chocolate notes initially, finishing with a touch of jet fuel. As the beer opens up, we get lots of sweeter notes of jam and candied pineapple.

The palate initially comes forward unpresuming; baking cocoa with bittering notes featuring barrel-aged notes of oak and burnt caramel. Quickly on its tail comes those terpenes. The unique adjunct layers with notes of citrus, resiny hops, and grass; appropriately herbaceous linger. Time and temperature only increase the influence imparted by the hash. Green burps.

The mouthfeel hits a nice middle ground; medium weight, with a bit more of a seltzery carbonation than expected for the style and gravity. The tail is smooth and warming, with a bittering, terpene-fueled finish.

Overall I can't help but think that time has mellowed out the dank terpenes that this beer was packed with. While time has done well to bring balance to the experience, I'll admit curiosity on just how hash-loaded this beer was when fresh.

A bottle dated 05/09/23 purchased at the brewery and refrigerated since.

Look- Pours a thick and oily dark brown with just a trace of carbonation.

Smell- Bourbon and some bakers chocolate.

Taste- Bourbon, dark fudgey brownies, a hint of slightly sweet pineapple, a bit of dankness, char and a woody finish.

Feel- Flat, thick and oily smooth with a pleasant warmth.

I wasn't sure what to expect and when I tried it at the brewery last year I was pleasantly surprised. I drank 1 bottle last fall and decided to sit on this one a little longer. It tasted the same to me across the board. It was a fudgey bourbon barrel delight that I'd buy again if they decide to bring it back.
