Poured from a 500mL bottle into a Perennial SdC tumbler. Pours a thick black with virtually no foam. Dark fruit, heavy bourbon, chocolate and vanilla on the nose. Taste follows with less dark fruit and more chocolate and bourbon. Thick mouthfeel. Insanely good. Doesn’t at all drink like the 17% it’s listed at. Really good DBA stout.

Cellared 1 year. Pitch black oil pour, clean. Smells of bourbon booze and barrel wood atop a stout with semi-sweet chocolate, char, caramel, hints of vanilla and molasses. Taste is boozier with less accenting tones to go with the massive barrels, chocolate and malt stand out with minor caramel. Feel is pretty warm, really to hot by the time you finish the glass even with a year of aging, this thins the body out a bit and it is not as smooth in the maltwork

Look - back and thick with slight rimming and lacing
Smell and taste - so much barrel follwed by dark chocolate malts and booze
Feel - full thick body with a slight crisp carb
Ovearll - outstanding

This 500ML bottle is my third swing at New Image & hoping this is the pinnacle. Nice-looking minimalist bottle art.
The pour is black night with an equal amount of head (none). Nose isn’t strong but waxes poetic re: barrels & malts.
Double Barrel Anaphora is interesting The feel is akin to grit 16, abrasive (that’s a new one) amid a riotous rapid of booze & barrel. My face is close to melting. Barrels warm the stuff behind my sternum. Mild chocolates, softwood oak barrels, slight earthiness, with a finish of deep, dusty malt sweetness. Certainly full. Certainly I could drink more of this, though it would be ill-advised for an early wakeup call.
This is growing on me steadily as I sip, or perhaps that’s just the 63% alcohol. Excellent beer.
