New Image is a brewery I see a lot on Tavour but rarely grab for some reason. But sometimes a simple Quad can draw me in. It sounds especially good for this cool night. Let’s crack it open and see what it’s all about
Pours a cloudy light orange brown with 2 fingers of creamy light beige head that quickly fades to a ring and leaves decent lacing
The nose is rather sweet here, but it actually works out quite nicely. I’m picking up on aromas of molasses, red grape, brown sugar, shortbread cookie, dark toast, raisin, burnt caramel, black pepper, vanilla, and light anise
The sweetness is dialed up in taste, but it doesn’t have quite the same charm that it had in the nose. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting sweet caramel, red grape, dark bread, molasses, red apple, toffee, light vanilla, and clove. The swallow brings notes of red grape, molasses, burnt caramel, brown sugar, creme brûlée, raisin, dark bread, clove, and light toffee
A medium body pairs with gentle tingling carbonation, resulting in a creamy yet crisp beer. Finishes mostly dry despite the sweetness
I dig this one. If the taste matched the nose it would be on another level but it’s good as is
