Cellared almost a year. Had head to head with Dagon. Lesser clear darker brown body but a fuller tan head. Boozy and sneaky hops with pine and orange, caramel right away in taste, but more toasted, not as sweet as the original, with more barley and charred earth, but still plenty of plum. Smell is very boozy and barrel forward. Leans hot and thin, barrel is not conveyed like the booze is

An acceptable version of the style. Pours dark brown, dissipating foamy head that leaves some lacing. Scents of raisin, leather, honey, and light tobacco. Same flavors are present, a bit of boozy vanilla wood presence as well. Lighter body than expected, very crisp and clear for the style. Definite assertive booziness that warms your insides. That’s probably the best part of the beer, but it’s good. Don’t think it will age very well, however.
