This is a very unique barleywine and I can totally see why it is being described as being of a Belgian style. The yeastiness is prominent as one would expect from (pretty much) any given Belgian style of beer. Not too incredibly sweet for a barleywine but definitely a slow sipper kind of beer

Had back to back with the ba version, and this one was better! Opaque lighter brown with highlighted edges, khaki foamy head. Here the sweet malts imparting caramel and dark fruit actually have earthy and grainy barley to pair with as a counter unlike the ba version. Taste is slightly sweeter with more caramel, smell more earthy. Not a lot of depth, and the sweetness does add up on the palate slowly.

Mixed feelings on this one. It lives up to its sugary title. It’s very sweet. At first I thought I wouldn’t finish the bottle. But then I did. The color is rust and it has floating sediment in it.
Big notes of cherries, maple, and I get some berry as well. It’s a very solid taste. It’s just a little syrupy and intense. I wouldn’t really want a second bottle of it.
