We’ve never offered a “still” stout before. We’ve certainly dabbled with the concept with our oxidized barleywine series, but this is different. What you’ll taste from this bottle is the same liquid, in the same form as how we first experienced it during our blending session. Just beer, oak and age, served without carbonation, at room temperature. In this state, you’ll experience the mouthfeel, flavor and aroma of this beer in a completely different way than if it were cold and carbonated and that’s what we wanted. We want you to experience this one and the same form as we found it, unaltered but complete.

Look - Pours a solid dark black color with absolutely no head and no carbonation (as per the description). Leaves a dark lacing on the glass when swirled.
Smell - Wow, I'm not quite sure what I'm smelling - is it barleywine, or stout? The smell to me is a little more on the barleywine side, and is really quite nice. Dark fruit, chocolate, malt, and port.
Taste - Taste largely follows the nose with bourbon in addition to dark fruit, malt, chocolate, and port.
Feel - Mouthfeel is nicely syrupy, though it felt a bit hot to me for 13.9%ABV.
Overall - This is a very enjoyable beer. My only (minor) complaint is that it felt stronger than 13.9%.
