Opaque dark brown turbid pour, tan head, fizzles out quickly. Aromas of barley and bourbon meeting the mead with sweet berries, toasted caramel, molasses. Taste follow suit with the barley, bourbon, mead combo leading, but now I actually get a good bit of the toasty oak, vague berries, and black currant, maybe even a little raisin, with molasses and a kiss of anise rounding out. For the feel, it’s very smooth before the barley and barrel textures come in a sneaky rustic way, otherwise malty yet cooler.
