I agree with the styling of this as an American Red. I wish that many American Reds used hops as graciously as Mica has here. Also, I'm slowly learning to discern the different shades of amber in Spanish brewing. I just had Mica's Rubia and now it's Tostada Tiempo. While there are slight -- tho not significant differences -- in colour, there are similarities in the two brews. And one of the major likenesses seems to be this water that has mineral content, mica, from which the micro takes its name.

Tostada paired well enough with a blue cheese to prove my theory: moderate hops lends itself better to stinky cheeses because very hoppy ales and very stinky cheeses make a mess of my mouth.

Anyhow... I like that Mica considers themselves a rural micro and are dedicated to making the best beers they can using their terroir. And that's really the celebration of the four Mica brews that I just drank in two days. Salud !
