Bottle didn't have a "batch number" on it. All it said was "batch" and a blank next to it. Came to me from Winooski Bevy, Vermont.
But everything came together very nicely, so I wasn't bothered by that.
This was poured into a tulip.
The appearance was a semi-murky dried dark paper orange color with no head or lace.
The aroma had a sour orange peel up front with a decent grassy hop sweetness playing with a little funk and a touch of sweet wood/semi-oaky.
The flavor had a good sturdy sour taste nipping at the funk and sweetness and allowing a nice level-ed out woodiness that seemed to all come together in the aftertaste.
The mouthfeel was almost medium bodied, seemed to sit just a touch under with a fair refreshing sort of semi-sessionable quality about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV seemed on par. Semi-tart yet sour with a crisp sort of finish.
Overall, I'd say this was a pretty good "sour" saison that I would have again.

Poured from a tall bottle into a Dogfish Head tulip. Marked batch #1

L: Nearly clear golden pour. 2 fingers of foamy white head. Great lacing.

S: Tart... citrus and lemon. Complex with a bit of funk... stone fruits.

T/F: Tart and flavorful... a LOT going on. Definite lemon and citrus... a mild pucker but not overly sour. Some lemongrass/hay quality. Mild spice. Slightly under-ripened summer fruits like peach and apricot. Nicely carbonated. Medium to light in body... effervescent. Finish is tart and sticky, leaves you wanting more.

O: A REALLY nice Saison... puts me in mind of the good stuff they're doing over at 'Tired Hands'. Awesome stuff and well worth the pickup. Now to find more.
