Growler from Mike. Poured into a mug, the appearance was a murky brown color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that receded at a gentle pace. Some stringy lace. The aroma had some baker’s chocolate up front with some roast, coffee bean, caramel/toffee malts and earthy to grassy hops. Some piney hops do enter, but end up keeping a fair distance. The flavor keeps the sweet and roastiness of the malts up front leaving the hops to a steady yet bitter sly backbone. Nice blend in the aftertaste. Quick malty finish. The feel was just a tad under medium in body with a good smoothness along my tongue. Carbonation felt fine and so was the ABV. Overall, pretty nice American brown ale that I would have again if I could get it.
