Reviewed from notes. Thanks Mike. The appearance was a murky dark brown color with a finger’s worth of eggshell white foamy head that slid off at a mild pace. Light stringy lace. The aroma started with the sweet maple sliding into some light nutty to caramel/toffee portions. Some light tones of dark chocolate underneath. The flavor leans definitely towards the sweet side through the strength of the maple. Some brown sugar seemed to come out here and brought back the nuttiness. Light aftertaste of the maple syrup. Finish was slightly sticky sweet. The feel was roughly medium on the body with a decent sessionability about it. Mild carbonation. ABV felt fine. Almost cloying but some of the noticeable dark chocolate, I think it was, from the aroma may have helped keep this one down, just a bit. Overall, though borderline cloying, for the most part, it’s a pretty good brown ale worthy of having again.
