A solid IPA but not necessarily Fate's best work, this is plenty hoppy but in a bit of a nondescript way, no one note standing out over the others, ultimately resulting in a general fruity hoppiness, all set against a very basic malt bill that offers little sweetness or character. You might call out a bit of orangeyness in the hops, maybe some general citrus bitterness. Again, it's pleasant enough, enjoyable even, but it lacks depth. Side by side with the Double Oatmeal IPA, and even the Pale Oat Pale Ale, this one didn't stand out.

On tap at the brewery. Look is medium orange, some haziness. Smell doesn't give up much, just some light piney hops. Taste is a solid hop punch, plenty bitter with some citrus notes. Medium level of malt balances things nicely. The biter gangs quite long on the palace. Slightly above average for me but mostly because I prefer the more fruit forward hop varietals.

Good IPA. My rating probably penalized unfairly as I tasted it after the huge and awesome APA.
