Had on tap. Murky golden pour with a finger of eggshell white foam, trace lacing. Big citrus and pine hop nose but not much else. Taste as light tropical notes added, oat and biscuit malt support, yet light on the palate overall with hop bitters finishing well. Feel is smooth and well hopped, but there is a moment in the middle where it is kind of desolate with just muted malt.

Best damn beer on the Fate menu...should be on tap 365 days per year...no bloody excuse for it not sitting there waiting to be consumed by all who love hoppy beer!

For all the addition of oats, which you'd expect to smooth things out, this one still packs quite a punch, lots of resiny bitterness, buttressed by citrusy hops and a very subtle smoothness that lurks in the background. If you look for it, the oats are there, to be sure. But this is still a big, brash West Coast-style DIPA at heart. Good drinkin'.
