Hop City - Krog Street Market

Open beer bar attached to a store in the trendy Krog Street Market. Beer selection inside is among the best in Atlanta; bar selection is also very good and quality is high on both dimensions. Pricing is fair and service is very knowledgeable. A great beer destination in Atlanta, whether you’re visiting or an Inman Park local.

 

I’m a big fan of the Hop City chain, whether in Atlanta, GA or Birmingham, AL. I always stock up for some beers during my trips and/or to bring back home.

I visited this one in Krog Market for the first time a few weeks back since the other one closed a few months back. It’s a typical beer store but the vibe is always a little better with the on-site consumption option.

The quality is always great. Shelf beer, refrigerated beer. I’ve never had an issue with freshness or quality.

The service is always great, and particularly outstanding at this location, as I was pointed to numerous options based on my questions.

The selection at Hop City is always great. Tons of local options, a pretty thorough international selection (specifically a lot Belgian lambic and Gueuze options).

Like being a kid in a candy store.

This place has become a very cool option to grab a brew and to grab a sixer at the same time. Can be packed out front where the pints are, and the service can be harried there. Good rotating draft list. The store is great for both beer and wine. Great, deep, eclectic selection. My favorite location for sure.

 

 

 

A cool place but a little tight. Be prepared for people to constantly walk in front of you when looking at beers. Its in a very trendy building with a lot of eating establishments.

First time to visit the Krog St Market. Very cool spot with the bar outside the store. Huge draft selection that you expect from Hop City and a great bottle selection. Atlanta is getting much better distribution than I remembered. Wicked Weed, Cascade, Bruery, Prairie, etc.)

This is probably the best selection of tap beer in Georgia. 60 taps of craft beer, 20 of which are always local. The owner must have a great relationship with distributors and local breweries, because they get some crazy stuff. Constantly changing list on a big chalkboard. Neat atmosphere and a great place to hang out, as you can stroll around the market or get some food while you're drinking your beer. Really it's a must stop for any out of town visitors. It's a bar, a bottle shop, and a growler store.

 

 

Really great place in the Krog Street Market (which was very cool and well worth a visit or two); excellent selection, with many local, regional, national, and international offerings, and a decent breadth of styles. I was there on a Friday evening, when the bartenders were great despite the crowds, then there again on a weekend day, when at least one was fairly clueless (though nice enough). Well worth a visit, and you can drop into the bottle shop next door! The shop is also well worth visiting. Great selection of local and international stuff, sixers, bombers, etc. The pick-six wall was pretty good; I'd give it a B+... not quite up to relative excellence at the bar.

 

Love this store in Birmingham and enjoyed visiting the Atlanta store. You can't beat their selection, and I would say they are reasonably and comparably priced. Will visit again next time I'm in town.

This place is great. 60 beers on tap, and lots of beer for sale. No home-brew supplies like at the other Hop City location. The bar area is inside the Krog Street Market, so you can drink your beer with food from the other vendors there, and you can sit where ever you like.
