Deep amber with tan foam. Fragrance of spicy rye, caramelized raisins and toasted fall spices. Flavors are reminiscent of freshly baked cinnamon raisin bread, light bodied and refreshing.

a slightly under carbonated rye saison type, i like it being at the session strength and being quite simple, i think it lets the rye come out a little more. i also like the choice to keep the yeast aspect pretty mild, almost like a rye belgian pale, there isnt a ton of funk or farm to this, but there doesnt need to be. soft white wine notes work great with the spicy, dry, earthy rye, a baked element here too gives it some seasonal versatility, and there are some hops here at the end with a little citrus to them, but staying away from the bitter realm. i dont really get the cinnamon or raisin they talk about in the flavor description, but i like the beer quite well. it tastes lightly wood aged to me, and has a nice cereal grain complexion with the rye leading the way. i think a developed brett funkiness would make this more interesting, but i like its sort of modest approach. a good session beer for any time of year, and a nice use of the rye in something a little lighter. ive liked all the beer i have had from forager so far!
