Came in a couple times since we moved to Minnesota. The pizzas are delicious, the beer is better. Always hopping, it is a destination beer spot, with great range in brews from Forager, most of extraordinary quality. I need to get back down there again soon.

Coffe shop on one side, brewpub/restaurant on the other. Adjacent parking lot. L-shaped bar, with brass rail. 18 taps, with excellent selection of styles. Outdoor patio, with umbrellas. Laid back staff. Funky decor, with moose head mount above the bar. Brewing equipment not in view.

On a business trip, I stopped into this brewpub for dinner and a few beers. Although easy to find, parking was limited. The place seems to have a coffee shop on one side and a wonderfully decorated and inviting brewpub on the other. It was lively and I sat at the bar. Service was friendly, attentive, and helpful. The beer was exceptionally well made, especially a Belgian double. I had a burger and salad, both with unusual and interesting ingredients. They were both delicious. Very impressive establishment.

Forager is 3 places in one. A coffee shop, restaurant, and brewery. They excel at all three. Its rustic and charming inside as you pass the coffee shop you walk into a full service nice sized restaurant with an eclectic northwoods feel . Bar seating and brewery is on the right. They have an outstanding outside patio thru some open doors. Service is attentive with a dozen or so brews on tap. Flight are available with half pours or pints. Have 5 or so crowlers for to go brew. A very pleasant ,rustic setting with great service, brew, and food. Only down part was lack of parking, the lot fills up fast as they open at 11am.

i really enjoyed my time at forager. it’s a very cool set up with a nice bar and dining area that opens up to a courtyard-like outdoor area that had outside kegorators and a place for live music as a band was playing. i did not try the food that day but the beer selection on-site and to-go was incredible. was able to try and walk away with some barrel-aged imperial stouts, fruited kettle sours and IPAs. was a really fun visit and hope to go back some day!

By all rights, Forager has some of the best food I've ever had at a brewery - granted, competition is not thick, but Bell's Eccentric Cafe and Forager are my top 2. Where I go from there, well, it's a bit of a blank honestly. Prairie Artisan has a great kitchen, Surly used to (I've heard the pizza there now is great - unconfirmed as yet), and etc. Hard to rate the others with very limited options.

I went to Forager on a date a few years ago (and have gone many times since) - it's about an hour and a half drive for me, but my date lived in Rochester so it was an easy spot to meet at... and a great excuse for me to pick up some crowlers, of course. I wasn't quite on my IPA quest to the same degree, so I stuck to their dark beers - I had a pour of Sherpa's Survival Kit, and a raspberry variant. Neither blew me away, though I rated them quite decently. I'm more a fan of milk chocolate as an adjunct that dryer, dark chocolate, and that's no fault of the beer - it's still very good. My date and I also shared pizza and a bacon flight. A BACON FLIGHT. It was pretty delicious - several different varieties of bacon prepared in different ways. I love savory, rich food with beer, so this was perfect - especially paired with high ABV, fairly sweet beer.

The service is always friendly here, and quite helpful and quick. It's a very casual dining spot, but plenty of business types seem to be around frequently as well - Rochester being home to the Mayo clinic makes this a no-brainer. The brewery also frequently hosts local music spots, which is pretty cool. Not generally my speed, but it's always decent music.

The parking can occasionally be a bit of a headache, as their parking lot is nearly always at capacity - this is even more problematic during bottle and crowler releases. But, street parking, or adjacent lot parking, generally seems to be possible. It's all free parking at least - you may end up walking a bit though.

I'll happily go to Forager any day for food - the beer is just a bonus here. Their IPAs don't generally blow me away, but I love the sours, and their darker beers tend to be fantastic - Nillerz, Nook, and (allegedly - I've still never had it) Magnus have all grabbed national attention... and even a bit of international interest.

I definitely recommend Forager. The drive is a bit of a hassle, but it's a perfect stop on the way from the Twin Cities on the way down to Decorah for Toppling Goliath or Pulpit Rock visits. It's certainly one of Minnesota's best breweries.

It's a brewery and restaurant that is its own island. I'm happy they CRUSH it across the board with food, atmosphere, and especially beer.

First time here. Plenty of seating. Nice bar area. 8 taps. Plenty of food options, I had the pizza, and it was very delicious. Beer, only had one here, but it was damn good. Probably the only main problem is parking, or lack of. Not much could be done about it. Great place to stop, and recommended.

Forager is a very cool place. Housed with a coffee shop, it has a combo hunting lodge/steampunk vibe. We were there in the afternoon so it wasn't crazy busy. Quality is top notch. Awesome IPA's.
Service was superb.
Selection was good with about 8 Forager beers available. Pre-filled growlers (with great labels) also for sale.
The food is also excellent with fabulous wood oven pizza.
Love this place.

Nice ambiance. Rustic and eclectic decor. Nice bar. Beer is top notch; best in Southern MN, and they do a little of everything - great IPAs of every style, stouts, porters, and sours. Food is great. Pretty kid friendly if you're into drinking with your kids.

Went here for lunch on a weekday and was quite impressed. Their space is decently sized and very warm and inviting. Their beer and food is supposed to be made from hyper local ingredients hence the name "Forager". I ordered a seasonal soup and salad which was delicious and filling but kind of pricey, as were their other foods. Their menu offers pizzas and burgers mostly which looked good, but was not what I was looking for. Their beer was impressive. I had a kettle sour and an IPA that were both excellent but expensive, especially for their pour size. Worth a stop while in Rochester, but don't expect it to be cheaper since you are outside of the cities.
