the original version of twisted branch from what i gather, a plum sour, i know there are all kinds of variants on this with different fruits, but i am fairly sure this plum is the original. deep pink in color, not overly heady, but great color saturation, more than i am used to from plums. the nose has a pretty clean bacterial tartness to it, but doesnt appear overly acidic. i smell generic fruitiness here and lemon, but to say plum for sure, i dont know. its plum in the flavor through, no denying that, lots of it and quite natural for how concentrated it is, as much plum as i have known in one of these, but it isnt too sweet which is one of its great advantages over the rest of the field. a lot of berliners start taking on too much flavor and lose their refreshment value, but not this one, it stays crisp and well drinkable even with all the plum happening here. fragrant rose wine, tart fruit skins, and even a raspberry note are all in here, sharp finish but not too acidic to drink a bunch of, and better carbonation than it looks like it has. tasty summery brew, forager is doing some really great stuff right now!
