Magic Bars: a tasty pastry stout inspired by a 7-layer bar. This thick, chocolaty ale was brewed w/ heaps of lactose sugar. Conditioned on sticky butterscotch, toasted coconut, roasted walnuts, vanilla beans, marshmallows, & cacao-nibs.

Poured from a crowler into a Forager nonic pint glass. Acquired in a trade with ssipissam, thanks!
Pours a dark brown, nearly black body with a small one finger khaki-brown head that reduces fairly quickly to leave spotty retention and no lacing.
Aromas of cocoa nibs, light caramel, milk chocolate, a bit boozy on the nose with vanilla and marshmallow in the background.
On the tongue, milk chocolate and cocoa sit upfront, lactose sweetness, giving way to boozy butterscotch, caramel, roasty malt, light vanilla and marshmallow and a littlebitter and metallic on the finish, leaving a sweet, sugary stickiness on the tongue that lingers for a bit. Mouthfeel was a little disappointing, a little thin and undercarbed.
Overall I wish the adjuncts came out more.. I definitely get cocoa but not too much of everything else. The body was a bit lacking as well. Enjoyed it nonetheless.
