This mixed culture farmhouse ale was blended from two selected wine barrels before a secondary fermentation on strawberries from Lorence’s Berry Farm in Northfield, Mn and fresh rhubarb stalks from Viola, MN. Bottle conditioned for three seasons before release, this farmhouse saison is designed for balance and approachability. Pairs this Minnesota saison after dinner, with a scoop of fresh vanilla bean ice cream, watching the fireflies dance down the sun.

A big thanks to Jeff for this one. 750ml capped bottle into a Brooklyn Brewery snifter. Shared with schen9303.
Nice color. For a strawberry rhubarb beer I'd think this would be a bit more on the rosier side. Nose is lemon, rhubarb, vinegar and a touch of strawberry. Pungent with a thick funkiness. Beer opens heavy rhubarb tartness. This one is pretty puckering up front. I get vinegar, oak, lemon and a touch of sour strawberry at the end. Finish is oak, hay and a funky foam. Body is light with ample carbonation. Prickly and foamy on the palate and goes down puckering. Filmy aftertaste. Pretty drinkable.
I'm not a huge fan of rhubarb beers and this one doesn't buck the trend. A bit over-the-top sour for me and the nuances here are lost.
