A - Pours out dark and semi-opaque, with some cola brown transparency around the edges. Head is short but tight, fading to a thin off white cap, with some small bubble lacing.
S - Strong hit of vanilla and sweetness, with spicy undercurrents, and a raisin and dark fruit element consistent with other solid Quads I've had.
T - Follows the nose, with sweet vanilla and baking spices, raisin and current notes, a bit of earthiness that mingles with a savory note, and a quietly dry, tannic fade in the close.
M - Brisk carbonation, moderate weight, and a fairly clean finish that makes this one pretty highly drinkable. The ABV is really quite well hidden, all told, which is pleasant but dangerous.
O - I like this Quad quite a bit. Nice feel, tasty, and easy to drink, it is something to drink in moderation.

MIdwest's 32 pours a translucent brown color, with no head, at all. Aroma is sweet, candy like, spices, and lots of honey. Flavor is sweet, very sweet, earthy spicy notes, some dry fruit flavors, and a good amount of sweet honey. Flat. Overall, it is a lighter quad, some nice flavors, on the very sweet side.

Per the menu, “Brewed with Belgian malts and gooey buckwheat honey before fermenting in oak barrels. Earthy spice, cocoa and caramel, finishing smooth and malty. A pumped up, super strong ale from the 32nd state.” Listed as 8% ABV on the tap list & 11.3% on the crowler list, so I’m going with the latter since I’m sipping from a 750ML crowler. Split with my wife.
Pour is deep amber that is lovely when held up to the artificial light. The nose is sweet, earthy, with a bit of oak. Tame.
Midwest’s 32 is sweeter than a peck on the cheek from Jennifer Aniston (though I’d trade plenty of these for one of those). Wonderful heavy sweetness that tracks to molasses up front, earthy rye that might be old barrel, caramel maltiness & cola with a slightly bitter finish. Really smooth, with no alcohol slap at all & drinkable as all get out if you don’t mind being drowned in sweetness. I don’t.
Really good beer, much better than the previous batch of Midwest 32’s I remember.
