A collaboration with our forever friend Cam from The Eighth State Brewing Company in Greenville, South Carolina. This massive stout first rested in house-aged maple syrup barrels for 10 months before being racked into a New Riff barrel and a Blanton’s barrel for a double barrel treatment of 14 more months. These two barrels were blended together without any adjuncts; just beer through time with patience.

Another beautiful 750ML Forager bottle. I should make a window out of these buggers. Split with my wife.
Black with a sweet bourbon nose. Nothing to dislike here.
Syncopation reminds me of tappin’ maple trees on the back forty & sleeping in that drafty old cabin on cold fall nights. Beautiful malts give this depth, heft, & a sap-licking sweetness, which is accented by the maple kick. Barrels show with surprising subtleness, a kick in the back of the throat & long, slow finish of bourbon. Gentle bits of black licorice finish a simple book. Full. Thick. I could’ve taken this solo. Easy.
Yup. After the disappointment of the Forager Ant Beer this has restored my faith in God & the American Way. Excellent beer.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
